About the Founder
As I prepared to leave military service, I began thinking seriously about what my training and experience would mean in the civilian workforce.
I spent much of my military career serving as a 92Y Unit Supply Specialist, a role that translated fairly naturally into civilian fields such as logistics, warehousing, shipping, and receiving. Later, I served under MOS 14X as an Air Defense Artillery trainee, with 14S Avenger Crewmember as the core occupational specialty. That experience was much harder to translate into a civilian career, and I found myself asking a question many service members face: How do I turn everything I learned in the military into meaningful civilian work?

Transition programs provide briefings, orientations, and long lists of employment, education, legal, and veteran resources. The information can be valuable, but it is often delivered all at once during an already overwhelming period. It can be difficult to understand what applies to you, remember every resource, or know which step to take first.
I also did not fully understand all the education and career-development benefits that might have been available to me. I knew about the GI Bill, but I did not understand programs such as Veteran Readiness and Employment, commonly known as VR&E, or how different benefits could be used strategically to support long-term education and career goals.
Like many veterans, I did not know what I did not know.
After beginning my career in higher education and working directly with veteran students, I gained a much clearer understanding of these programs and the decisions veterans face. I often found myself wishing I had known then what I know now.
That realization became the foundation of Mission Ready Education.
I created Mission Ready Education because veterans should not have to navigate education benefits, career options, and their transition into civilian life alone. Our goal is to turn complicated information into clear guidance, practical resources, and realistic next steps.
With the support of modern technology, I developed the Mission Ready Navigator, a tool that helps veterans explore potential education benefits, identify questions to ask, and create a personalized Mission Action Plan. Veterans can save or print the plan and take it to a VA representative, county Veteran Service Officer, VR&E counselor, school representative, or another qualified professional.
Mission Ready Education does not exist to tell veterans what decision to make.
It exists to help them better understand their options, ask informed questions, and confidently prepare for their next mission.
No veteran should have to navigate their future alone.
